  • Williams family welcomes Layla

    Michael and Eileen Williams, formerly of Elizabethtown, announce the birth of their first child, Layla Marie, on July 9.  She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 20 inches long. The Williams family currently resides in Nashville, Tenn., with their Siberian husky, Sylvia.

  • Riordan and Stallard guests at Elizabethtown Rotary Club

    Student guests at the Elizabethtown Rotary Club recently were Frankie Riordan and Debbie Stallard. Both attend Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.


  • Eagle Scout Court of Honor

    Josh White celebrates with his father, Steve White, at his Eagle Court of Honor on Aug. 16, 2009. He is Troop 233’s 114th Eagle Scout since the troop was founded in 1959. Steve White, an assistant Scoutmaster with the troop, was also presented his Woodbadge insignia for completion of advanced training for Boy Scout leaders during the ceremony.

        Clint and Tammy Linder of Eastview announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Deborah Michelle Linder of Eastview, to Seth Owen Gamblin of Sonora, son of Ron and Lori Gamblin of Elizabethtown. The bride-to-be is a 2006 graduate of Central Hardin High School and a 2009 graduate of Elizabethtown Community and Technical College.

  • Club honors Martha Mengel, Hall of Fame Award recipient


    Earlier in the summer, the Elizabethtown Junior Woman’s Club (EJWC), honored its 17th annual Hall of Fame Award recipient, Martha Mengel.

    The EJWC Hall of Fame Award is given annually to a woman in the community to honor her and show appreciation for her years of volunteer community service. Recipients are women who take pride in their community and who care about the people around them, and are not afraid to get involved. .

  • Ray graduates from basic military training

    RAY. Air National Guard Airman Aaron D. Ray graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.

    He is the son of Breneia Carrier of Loveland, Ohio, and Marcus Ray Radcliff.

    Ray is a 2008 graduate of Live Oaks Vocational School in Milford, Ohio.

    WAITERS. Pfc. Eboni Waiters graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Training at Parris Island, S.C. on Aug. 21, 2009. The daughter of Gail D. Richardson, she is a former student of Liberty High School and is currently enjoying recruit leave in her hometown of Radcliff. Upon completioni of Military Occupational Specialty School, MCT Camp Geiger, she will report to duty on the east coast, west coast or overseas.
