On July 24, Woodland Terrace held its Camp4Cure, the facility’s fundraiser for the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk in September. The facility had a dunking booth, cornhole tournament, wheel chair races and cakewalk as part of the entertainment during the night. Tonya Haines, administrator, sits in the dunking booth.
When I was an elementary principal back in the early ’90s, I had great health care at a fair price because my insurance premium was paid for by the local board of education. In the years before my retirement, the cost of my insurance premium went up each year, my co-pays increased and my coverage fast became less than great. I was one of the lucky people during this time as I did have health care, albeit it cost me more and more each year while my benefits decreased.
