    Dana and Pam Wolford of Rineyville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Bobbie Jo Wolford of Rineyville, to Ronny Noblett of Leitchfield, son of the late Charles Noblett Jr. and Helena Noblett of Leitchfield.

    The bride-to-be is a 2010 graduate of the University of Louisville with a degree in elementary education.

    The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of University of Kentucky with a degree in mechanical engineering. He is a design project engineer at Campbell Hausfeld.

    Kerry and Jennifer Kuerzi of Hodgenville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Skylar Leanne Kuerzi, to Tyler Watts, son of Charles F. and Carolyn Watts of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of LaRue County High School.

    The prospective groom is a 2005 graduate of Elizabethtown High School.

    The wedding is at 2 p.m. May 15, 2010, at Nolynn Baptist Church, followed by a reception at the Chamber of Commerce in Hodgenville.

  • Schulz speaks at EHLRTA meeting

    Ken Schulz, former WHAS-TV weekend meteorologist, recently addressed 86 members of the Elizabethtown-Hardin-Larue Retired Teachers Association at Severns Valley Baptist Church atrium. After retirement from WHAS, Schulz began his new career with Humana as a consultant in the senior products division. His presentation was, “Staying Active, Being Healthy, and Enjoying Life.”

    President Joyce Miller welcomed the group with a quote from John Steinbeck honoring teachers. Ramona Jeffries led the pledge to the flag.

    Ruth L. Allen, 68, died Wednesday, June 9, 2010. The funeral is at 2 p.m. today at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home in Shepherdsville with burial in Valley Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

  • Spring Fling poker run big success


    The Spring Fling homeless veteran’s poker run was a big success despite the unseasonably low temperature. More than 300 motorcycles with passengers participated in this year’s event raising $12,000 to benefit Interlink Counseling Services homeless veteran’s shelter. This has been a record event.

  • Lewis-Lemmonds Wedding


    Holly Renee Lewis and Lance Lemmonds were married April 2, 2010, in a private sunset ceremony in the Venus Garden at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. The couple exchanged rings and performed their own marriage vows.

    The bride is the daughter of G.T. and Peggy Lewis of Rineyville. The groom is the son of Debbie and Carl Lemmonds of Searcy, Ark.

    The couple spent their honeymoon in Las Vegas. Friends and family celebrated the couple’s nuptials at an open house brunch on April 10 at the Brown-Pusey House in Elizabethtown.
