    Robert A. Burris, 64, of Vine Grove, died Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    He was retired from the U.S. Army as a sergeant first class, was a member of Euclid Masonic Lodge No. 13 and Central Consistory No. 244, and was a Shriner and a Kentucky Colonel.

    Her family was her pleasure and first priority. She was a homemaker and a 50-year member of Eastern Star Chapter No. 174 in Elizabethtown. She loved to travel and participate in state and national Senior Games, wherever they were held. She also loved to vacation in her favored town, Gatlinburg, Tenn. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Ovesen Heights Baptist Church in Hodgenville.

    Harold Gene Buckley, 73, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital.

    He was a native of Hardin County. He retired after 45 years from Container Corp. of America as a dispatcher.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Jean “Jeannie” Buckley; his parents, William and Ruby Buckley; one son, Tony Ray Buckley; and one sister, Ardith Harrison.

    Clarence E. Boone, 81, of New Haven, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2009, at Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore.

    He was born on Sept. 9, 1927, in Howardstown. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Howardstown and an Air Force veteran who served in Japan. He retired from civil service after working 25 years.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Yae F. Boone; his parents, Clarence Boone and Mary Ellen “Nell” Cissell Boone; and a sister, Mary Elsie Boone.
