    Hattie Marie Adams

    Hattie Marie Adams, 88, of Elizabethtown, died Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at Woodland Terrace Health Care Facility.

    She was a native of Letcher County, a member of the Order of Eastern Star and the Amaranth. She was a member of Severns Valley Baptist Church.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Sandy and Sarah Jane Craft Adams; three brothers, Owen Adams, Bert Adams and Bill Adams; and two sisters, Della Dexheimer and Kelsie English.

  • Students perform recital concert in Elizabethtown

    On May 10 the students of Carina Tiotuico and her friend Stephany Murphy performed a recital-concert at the College Heights Methodist church in Elizabethtown. Both teachers also performed in the event and were joined by Dr. Paul Taylor from Morehead State University who appeared as a special guest artist.

    The students performed classical, jazz and pop music selections in a variety of genres including piano, accordion, flute, voice, and violin. Some of the students, who ranged in age from 4 years old to 60, performed original compositions as well.

    Fatina Bivens

    Fatina Bivens, 68, of Radcliff, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.

    She attended St. Christopher Catholic Church. Her hobby was playing Bingo, and her favorite color was purple.

    She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Wilson (Kevin); five grandchildren, Latonya, Lavonte, Desirea, Kadon and Kelvlon; and two sisters, Rasheeda Ayers and Lilla Hughley.

    Howard Calvin Brinner

    Howard Calvin Brinner, 62, of Lebanon Junction, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

     The funeral is 11 a.m. Wednesday at Kappel Funeral Home in Lebanon Junction with the Rev. Chuck Waters officiating.

    Visitation is from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Chung O. Cook

    Chung O. Cook, 77, of Radcliff, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown.

    She is survived by her husband, Philip Cook; and a special friend, Joyce Trzetziak of Radcliff.

    The funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Vine Grove. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-Central in Radcliff.

    Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today and beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

    Survivors include a daughter, Chelsea N. Kolish.

    The family has chosen cremation.
