    Butch Yates of Elizabethtown and Cathy Yates of Rineyville announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amy Melissa Yates, to Aaron Fincher, son of Kimberly Fincher of Elizabethtown and the late Jay Fincher.

    The bride-to-be is a 2006 graduate of John Hardin High School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Louisville School of Psychology. She is pursuing a master’s degree at Campbellsville University in counseling. She is employed at Communicare in Elizabethtown.

    David and Cindy Gibson of Glendale announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Allison Courtney, to Brian Patrick Howard of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a 2011 summa cum laude graduate of Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in elementary education. She is employed by Hardin County Schools as a teacher at Rineyville Elementary School.

  • Johnsons celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    A.J. and Jo Etta Johnson will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration given by their children and grandchildren from 2 to 5 p.m. CST July 17, 2011 at South Edmonson Elementary School, 1058 Chalybeate School Road, Smiths Grove.

    High school sweethearts, they eloped after graduation and were married July 12, 1961 in Springfield, Tenn.

    Mr. Johnson is a veteran of the Air Force and a retired school principal. He worked for Hardin County Schools for 20 years before retiring.

  • Houser

    Ashley DeRuiter and Luke Houser were married, June 25, 2011, at Mill Creek Baptist Church.

    The bride is the daughter of Michael and Susie DeRuiter.

    The groom is the son of Rachel Houser.

    After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C., the couple reside in Radcliff.
