    ELIZABETHTOWN —  Emmy Award-winning actress and activist Sally Struthers and nationally syndicated talk show host Mike Gallagher will take the stage in Elizabethtown in April in A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters," a Kentucky Repertory Theatre production.

  • Tele-scammers strike using new tactic



    FRANKFORT - The Kentucky Labor Cabinet reported Wednesday numerous complaints about telemarketers trying to sucker employers with a false claim that the state no longer provides workplace posters for free.

    The scam, according to state officials, is an attempt to coax employers into purchasing new “required posters” for as much as $89 each.

    HARDIN COUNTY — Hardin County Schools will not be in session Thursday. Superintendent Nannette Johnston made the decision Wednesday afternoon. This will be the district's fifth snow day of the school year and third this week.

    Elizabethtown Independent Schools will return to session Thursday.

    Elizabethtown Community and Technical College will be closed Thursday as well.

  • EPD uses Taser to subdue fleeing suspect



    ELIZABETHTOWN – Elizabethtown police officers used a Taser to subdue a suspected thief Monday afternoon, following a short car chase that ended at Cool Springs Shopping Center on Ring Road.

    The incident began when emergency dispatchers took a report about someone stealing from gumball machines at Sav-A-Lot on West Poplar Street.

    Using lights and sirens, officers pursued a green Chevy Astro van driven by a 64-year-old Louisville man along North Dixie Avenue.
