    Ashley Redmond and Robert Flowers, both of Elizabethtown, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of Laura and Jarrett Redmond of Elizabethtown and is a manager at McDonald’s.

    The prospective groom is the son of Darrelle and Peggy Flowers and is a farmer.

    The wedding is at 7 p.m., Sept. 4, 2009, at St. James Catholic Church with a reception to follow at Pritchard Community Center.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

    Diana Bauer and Brad Walters announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bauer. She is a gunnery sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, stationed in Joliet, Ill.

    The prospective groom is the son of Dennis Walters of Radcliff and Lesa Johnson of Buffalo, Ky. He is a sales operation manager with United Health Care in Chicago.

    The National League of Junior Cotillions (NLJC), a program of etiquette, character education, and social dance training for middle and junior high school students, has announced plans to establish its National program in Hardin County.

  • Cease graduates from Navy basic training


    CEASE. Navy Seaman Recruit Jordan M. Cease, daughter of Tammy L. Cease of Elizabethtown, and David B. Cease of Marysville, Pa., recently completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Cease is a 2009 graduate of Elizabethtown High School.

  • MOWW and MOAA present awards to outstanding cadets

    The Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) and the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) continued to recognize cadet outstanding achievement by participating in the seventh and last Fort Knox ROTC Leaders Training Course (LTC) graduation ceremony on Aug. 9 at Brooks Field at Fort Knox. The LTC is conducted only at Fort Knox for students who elect to enter the Senior ROTC program in their junior year.

    Mr. and Mrs. William Owen announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Rachel Owen of Elizabethtown to Roman Ritchey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Randall Murray of Magnolia and Gary Ritchey of Jeffersonville, Ind.

    The bride-to-be attended Elizabethtown Community and Technical College and is assistant to the senior vice-president at Magnolia Bank.

    The prospective groom attended Georgetown College and is in marketing and advertising at ENERGY.
