    On Aug. 18 the Fort Knox Chapter of AUSA hosted a “Business after Hours” reception with special guest Rep. Brett Guthrie. He shared his experiences and views on a variety of topics, as well as reflected on the work that has been done so far this session and what lies ahead.

     

  • Vine Grove Woman’s Club kicks off fall

    The Vine Grove Woman’s Club hosted a pot luck to start the fall. Jean Scheible, club president from 1982 to ‘84, helped welcome new members. President Sallie Potts discussed upcoming programs. The club meets the first Tuesday of the month.

  • Patraeus makes presentation to AUSA

    On Sept. 11, Hollister (Holly) K. Petraeus, director of the Military Line for the Better Business Bureau, spoke to a gathering of Fort Knox Chapter AUSA Executive Council members and friends. Petraeus spoke on the many facets of support the BBB offers to military personnel and their families.

    (Betty) Ann Elizabeth (Probus) Campbell-Sims, 82, of Clarkson, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009. The funeral is at 11 a.m. CDT today at St. Elizabeth Parish in Clarkson. Visitation continues at 8:30 a.m. CDT today at Rogers-Oller Funeral Home in Clarkson. Joseph Edward Larkin, 61, of Louisville, died Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009. The funeral is at 1 p.m.

  • Whittingtons announce bith of Abigail

    Adam and Erin Whittington of Hodgenville announce the birth of a daughter, Abigail Ruth Whittington, on Aug. 18, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long.

    Paternal grandparents are Don and Rebecca Whittington of Prattville, Ala. Maternal grandparents are Victor and Glenda Girard of Munfordville.

    Maternal great-grandparents are Eve Boston of Linwood, Victor Girard II of Rhode Island and Willie and Lois Rigdon of Center. Paternal great-grandparents are Davis and Bonnie Whittington and Frank and Sybil Lee, all of Prattville.

    Rick and Deb Lutz of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their son, John David Lutz, to Rachel Ann Stuba, daughter of William and Leslie Stuba of Woodridge, Ill.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Downers Grove North High School and the University of Kentucky. She is a communications specialist with Ashland, Inc.

    The prospective groom is a graduate of Elizabethtown High School and the University of Kentucky. He is a land surveyor for Stantec Consulting Inc.
