    Dr. and Mrs. Vernon Duncan of Paducah and Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Ingram of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Brittany Duncan of Paducah and Andrew Ingram of Elizabethtown.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Elizabethtown High School and is a senior at Western Kentucky University. She will attend medical school after graduation.

    The prospective groom is a graduate of Elizabethtown High School and also is a senior at WKU.

        Josh and Lauren Abbott announce the birth of a daughter, Molly Claire Abbott, on Feb. 3, 2009. She weighed 6 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20.5 inches long. Grandparents are Joe Dale and Bonnie Cecil of Hodgenville and Paul and Sherry Abbott of Elizabethtown.

  • Abels celebrates 90th birthday

     

     

    Christine Goodman Abels of Elizabethtown celebrated her 90th birthday on March 7, 2009, at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Elizabethtown.

    She was born March 18, 1919 in Eastview.

    She was married to the late Paul Abels.

    She has one daughter, Linda Sicurrella of Bricktown, N.J.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

    John and Louana Ervin of Guston will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary today, April 5, 2009.

    They were married in Olney, Ill., on April 5, 1969.

    They have five children, John W. Ervin Jr., Chyree Winiecki, Heidi Cruz, Jeremie Ervin and Jason Ervin; and 15 grandchildren.

  • Clark named Elizabethtown Lions Club CHHS Student of the Month

    Elizabethtown Lions Club’s Central Hardin High School Student of the Month, Samantha Clark, was introduced to the club by Lion Jim Weise at their Feb. 24 meeting. She holds a 4.0 GPA and her school activities include Y-Club, Drama and National Honor Society. Her community activities include dance, Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern. She has been active in YMCA. Her future plans are to attend Bellarmine University, studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with the goal of earning a degree in Pharmacy.

     

  • Women With A Purpose conduct fashion show

    Women With A Purpose presented its Ninth annual spring fashion show on March 21 at the New Hope Multipurpose Building. The fashions and decorations reflected the season. BG and Me modeled high fashions for spring and summer. Lunch was catered by Back Home. Venders displayed spring and summer fashions and wares. Funds raised will be used to fund two annual scholarships; $500 each; Relay for Life, Project Graduation, packages for troops and other charitable donations
