    Billy and Susan Willian of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Angela Michelle Willian, to Lawrence Harold (Hal) Bender, son of Lawrence and Myra Bender of Central City.

    The bride-to-be is a graduate of Western Kentucky University and earned her Master’s Degree from Campbellsville University. She teaches at James T. Alton Middle School in Vine Grove.

    The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of Martha Thomas and the late Robert E. Thomas and Mr. and Mrs. Denver L. Parrett. She is a 2008 graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Agriculture and is employed with Fort Knox Federal Credit Union.

  • Siblings announce birth of brother



    Taylor and Addison Smith of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a brother, Tanner Cruz Smith, on May 7, 2009, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. The baby weighed 8 pounds, 3 ounces.

    Parents are Benjamin and Stephanie Smith of Elizabethtown.

    Maternal grandmother is Leah Donna Crabtree, and maternal grandfather is Steve Crabtree. Paternal grandparents are Homer and Sandy Smith. Stepgrandmother is Suzanne Crabtree.

  • Kings to celebrate 25th wedding anniversary

    Jerry and Joann King will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary on June 30, 2009. They will have a vow renewal and reception at 4 p.m. June 13 at Pritchard Community Center in Elizabethtown.

    Jerry King is the son of the late Loyd and Sue King and is employed at AGC Automotive. Joann King is the daughter of Ben and the late Dorothy Cundiff and is employed at Dollar Tree. They are the parents of Jessica Norberg, Joni and Joshua King.

    All friends and family are invited to the event.

    Chris Sherrard and Summer Smith of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a son, Brennan Reed Sherrard, on Dec. 7, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 7 pounds, 1.6 ounces and was 19 inches long.

    Paternal grandparents are Doug and Audrey Sherrard of Elizabethtown. Paternal great-grandparents are Donald and Leona Morgan of Elizabethtown, Vivian Sherrard of Hodgenville and the late Gordon “Buck” Sherrard.
