    ELIZABETHTOWN — Downtown is going to be a little more crowded and lively this holiday season.

    The city of Elizabethtown and the Heritage Council on Wednesday held a joint news conference at the First Federal Gallery inside the Historic State Theater to mark the “Light Up Old Towne” Art Walk Celebration, in hopes of spurring economic growth and rejuvenation in a downtown that has seen better days.

  • Witness details Saturday night fatal wreck



    ELIZABETHTOWN – Worn out from riding motorcycles all day, Tim Padgett and his wife, April, were dozing off before 8:30  p.m. Saturday when the sound of squealing tires and crashing metal jolted  them to their feet.

    From the bedroom of their home on Battle Training Road, the Padgetts could hear a vehicle struggling to climb a hill in their front yard.
