    What we know about both current city councilman Blake Proffitt and former councilwoman and current city events coordinator Donna Broadway is that there is an undisputed love for this city that would exist regardless if they were in public office.

    It’s a shame that both won’t be spending the next two years serving the city either as mayor or on council because they both have plenty to offer this growing city.

    Ashley Autumn Sanders and Joseph Lee Gray, both of Sonora, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

    The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Melissa and Eddie Sanders; and the granddaughter of Larry Tuck and Beverly Strickland.

    The prospective groom is the son of Joe Gray and Kelly Gray.

    The wedding is at 7 p.m., Oct. 22, 2010, at the Brown-Pusey House in Elizabethtown with a reception to follow.

    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.


  • Brigham graduates from USUHS

    BRIGHAM. Stuart K. Brigham has graduated from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) in Bethesda, Md. The graduate received a medical degree and was commissioned to the rank of captain, with a minimum seven-year active duty service commitment.

    Brigham is a resident physician assigned to the U.S. Air Force. The captain has eight years of military service.

    He is the son of Lawrence K. and Stephanie R. Brigham of Elizabethtown.

    His wife, Sascha, is the daughter of Stanley Matter of Elsmere.

  • Pearman a semifinalist for Teacher of the Year



    A T.K. Stone Middle School teacher is one step closer to receiving a statewide honor.

    Gary Pearman, an English teacher at T.K. Stone, is one of nine semifinalists for the 2011 Kentucky Teacher of the Year Award, and is one of three finalists for the Kentucky Middle School Teacher of the Year Award. The awards will be presented Tuesday at a ceremony in Frankfort.
