  • Northern Hardin County Democratic Woman’s Club Installs 2011 Officers

    The 2011 officers of the North Hardin Democratic Woman’s Club recently were installed by Judge Kimberly Shumate, who reflected on past accomplishments over the club’s 12-year history — from its beginning on a snowy evening on Fort Knox to today, when the club is one of the most active in the state.
    Installed were Beverly Rickey, president, Maria Batistoni, first vice-president, Sherry Barnes, second vice president, Nancy Chancellor-Cox, third vice-president, Susan Dyer, secretary, Carolyn Shelman, treasurer, and Portia Petties, auditor.

  • Radcliff Woman’s Club installs 2011 officers

    Recognition of past officers and installation of officers for 2011 occurred at the Dec. 13 dinner meeting of the Radcliff Woman’s Club. Outgoing president Kathy Eubanks informally presented past officers, Pat Nuccitelli, Becky Brecht, Yvonne High, Hope Escobedo, Margo Kampe and Barbara Hayes with gifts of appreciation.

  • Wesley Hilltop House Hosts Christmas Dinner

    Wesley Hilltop House held its annual Christmas dinner for the seniors and the board Dec. 23 with approximately 70 people in attendance. Members of the Zonta Club of Elizabethtown were present to help serve the dinner. The Zonta Club presented Wesley Hilltop’s new director, Randy Dystra, with a set of pans to be used for daily meals.   • Stearmans celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

    Carlos and Linda Chaudoin Stearman will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2 to 6 p.m. Jan. 9, 2011, at their home.
    They were married Jan. 7, 1961, in Green County by the Rev. Clellon Rattliff.
    Both are retired from GE.
    They have two sons, David and Tracy; and one granddaughter.
    All friends and relatives are invited to attend.
    No gifts please, but cards would be appreciated.

  • Parents welcome Trinity Noelani

    Heather Minagawa and Michael Snyder, both of Vine Grove, announce the birth of a daughter, Trinity Noelani Minagawa-Snyder, on Dec. 1, 2010, at Norton Hospital in Louisville. She weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 21 ½ inches long.

    Siblings are Kaleb, Destiny and Hailey Snyder.

    Maternal grandparent is Roy Minagawa of Elizabethtown; and paternal grandparent is Wanda Bogue of Elizabethtown.

    Great-grandparents are James and Ruth Rabideaux-Pettway.

    Craig and Nicole Durand announce the birth of a daughter, Rylee Brooke Durand, on Nov. 30, 2010. She weighed 7 pounds, 4 ounces and was 19 ½ inches long.
    Grandparents are Curt and Claudia Showers of Elizabethtown, Don and Gail Fortin of Milton, N.H., and Bruce Chandler of Berwick, Maine.
    Great-grandparents are Christine Showers of Finksburg, Md., and Doug and Jeannette Seivwright, Norman and Jackie Durand and Dorothy Chandler, all of Berwick.

  • Sister welcomes Peyton Elizabeth

    Aeryn Marie Greenwell announces the birth of a sister, Peyton Elizabeth Greenwell, on Dec. 23, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 6 pounds, 15 ounces and was 18.5 inches long.
    Parents are Stephen and Alana Greenwell of New Haven.
    Maternal grandparents are Chris and Karen Coons of Vine Grove and paternal grandparent is Hazel Greenwell of Culvertown.
    Great-grandparents are Comer and Elizabeth Coons of Radcliff and Ruth Greenwell of Culvertown.

    Micah and Katrina Johnson of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a daughter, Kennedy Ann Johnson, on Nov. 2, 2010, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds and was 20 inches long.
    Sister is Jennings Ashley Johnson.
    Maternal grandparents are Richard and Connie Leary of Elizabethtown; and paternal grandparents are Bill and Linda Johnson of Elizabethtown.
