    Is it possible that luck is a performance skill? What kind of training produces luck? This question became pertinent the first week of the World Cup soccer play in the game of United States vs. England.

    The play in question happened when Clint Dempsey of the United States struck a 25-yard shot straight at the England goal keeper. The ball skipped twice before arriving at the goal keeper. It should have been a routine play. Green should have calmly picked it up and the shot would have been stopped.

  • Elderly defendant still not arraigned in murder case

    ELIZABETHTOWN — A woman indicted on a murder charge in April for the death of an E’town Motel resident appeared a second time in Hardin Circuit Court Tuesday for an arraignment which didn’t happen.

    Dressed in an orange inmate jumpsuit, 65-year-old Ethel Riley walked slowly into view of 9th Circuit Judge Ken Howard Tuesday morning for a brief chat among attorneys involved.

  • Local Boy Scout leads drive for SpringHaven

    Bryce Etter of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 221 is leading a “Daily Essentials Drive” for the SpringHaven Domestic Violence Program. The drive is Etter’s community service project for his rank of Eagle Scout.

    SpringHaven is an eight-county program that offers 24-hour, 7 day a week assistance to anyone who is a victim of spouse/partner abuse. It provides the following services at no cost:

Clifford, a 16-year-old Australian, and Derome, an 18-year-old Canadian, swept the pro and junior pro men’s division, respectively, as the MasterCraft Pro Wakeboard Tour wrapped up at Freeman Lake
