  • KSP civilians honored for work



    Kentucky State Police Post 4 dispatcher Chuck Stewart was among a select group recognized as  exemplary civilian employees during a special ceremony earlier this month in Louisville.

    Stewart began work at Post 4 in 2003 after 16 years with Hardin County’s E-911 center.

     Irving Michael Kimmel

    Irving Michael Kimmel, 81, of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Elizabethtown, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010.

    He served in the Army for eight years and worked for the Amor and Engineer Board in Fort Knox for 30 years. He was proprietor of Colonial Motel and E-town Photography, an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and diving instructor for the Bluegrass Scuba Association.

    Survivors include two sons, David Kimmel and Daniel Kimmel; a daughter, Benita Grimm; and six grandchildren.

    Dating is stressful enough for most teenagers, so why make things more complicated by limiting ourselves to whom we can date based solely on age?

    In today’s society there is nothing unacceptable about girls dating younger guys.

    “I think it’s perfectly fine for girls to date younger guys," said Logan Hartlage, a senior at Elizabethtown High School. "If two people like each other, it shouldn’t matter if one person is older, whether it is the boy or the girl.”
