    HENDRIX. Army Pvt. Phylisha A. Hendrix has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. A 2008 graduate of North Hardin High School, she is the daughter of Robin Hendrix of Radcliff.

  • Hardin County AM Rotary welcomes Bob Belknap as guest speaker

    Bob Belknap, Executive Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hardin/Larue Counties spoke to the Hardin County AM Rotary at their meeting on Jan. 15. He noted that 255 children in Hardin County were served last year and there are currently 68 children on the waiting list. He noted that 85 percent of their children are living in a single parent household, and 10 percent are being raised by their grandparents. They welcome teenagers and adults to volunteer to be a Big Brother or Big Sister.

  • MOWW Fort Knox Chapter Hosts JROTC Cadets

    The Fort Knox Chapter of the Military Order of the World Wars (MOWW) hosted three North Hardin High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) cadets at the Jan. 20 meeting. One of the missions of the MOWW is to support and recognize JROTC (high School) and ROTC (college) Military Science students for their accomplishments.

    Bailey welcomes brother

    Bailey Alexandria Richardson of Stephensburg announces the birth of a brother, Trey Alexander Richardson on Nov. 11, 2008, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. He weighed 8 pounds, 15.2 ounces and was 19.5 inches long.

    Parents are Jamie and Tausha Richardson of Stephensburg.

    Grandparents are Jim and Kathy Richardson of Summit and Walter and Nieta Cronin of Louisville.

  • Perkins participates in Miss Pre-teen pageant


    Erin Perkins, Miss Pre-Teen Hardin County, competed in the 2008 Miss Pre-Teen Kentucky pageant in Louisville on Oct. 18. Out of 82 contestants Erin placed in the top 15. She is the daughter of Gerry and Carroll Perkins of Elizabethtown.
