  • HCRWC hosts Corn Hole Tournament

    The Hardin County Republican Women’s Club hosted a cornhole tournament on Sept. 27 at American Legion Park.

    Several teams competed for the $150 first prize and $75 second prize. Cornhole is a game that has taken the place of horse shoes with tournaments being held at local fairs and community events. Plans already are underway for a future tournament. To be put on a list to be notified when plans are solidified for a future tournament, call Debbie Sullivan at 369-6341.

  • Demery speaks to Radcliff Rotary Club

  • Elizabethtown man helps natives in remote Guyana

    Not many people in the remote South American country of Guyana get a reception like the son of an Elizabethtown couple.

    People paddled miles upriver, hiked through overgrown jungle trails and piled into cramped, over-crowded buses to get to  Air Force Staff Sgt. David W. Hager, son of Larry and Bea Hager of Elizabethtown, who recently spent time in Guyana as part of a nation-building and humanitarian exercise called “New Hori-zons.”
