Kentucky State Police investigate shooting

Bardstown police officer found dead on parkway ramp

A Bardstown police officer, Jason Scott Ellis, was shot and killed sometime before 2:40 this morning as he was on his way home from work.

Kentucky State Police officers are investigating the shooting, which happened on the Exit 34 ramp on the Blue Grass Parkway at Bloomfield Road. The officer was in uniform and was found outside the police car he was driving.
