It’s going to take all of us
On Nov. 15, Kenneth L. Randall wrote a letter to the editor telling President Barack Obama’s supporters not to expect “white flags” from conservatives. Well, I hope not. This is not the time to give up.
I have never heard of Mr. Randall, but I certainly wouldnot want him to crawl into a hole. It is going to take all of us, liberal and conservative alike, to solve the nation’s complicated problems.

All that needs done is nothing

Ten years ago the political system enacted a law to lower taxes and raise expenses. The law carried an expiration date of the end of this year. 

Cooperation trumps polarization

It was disheartening for me to read a letter in Thursday’s edition of The News-Enterprise, titled “No white flags.”

When President George W. Bush won re-election in 2004, with a bit smaller popular vote than President Barack Obama’s, he let it be known that his victory gave him political capital. In that spirit I would remind the writer that Obama has been freely re-elected by a majority.

Enough opposition

Never in the history of the United States has the opposition held a meeting and decided that no matter what the policy, even if it were good for the country, they are going to object and block the policy. Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich informed us of that.
