Discriminatory policy?
With the recent start of alcohol sales in Hardin County, I have seen some very disturbing signs of racism at the places where it will be sold.
In every store offering beer or other alcoholic beverages, you can see signs which clearly state, “No alcohol sold without a photo ID.” This is clearly an effort by the Democrat-controlled Commonwealth of Kentucky to suppress alcohol sales to minorities, the elderly, students and other groups.

Tennis champs overlooked
This opinion is in reference to the top 10 highlights in the area in Sports. I do not know who did the research or how much research went into this or how long it took to compile the information. I do know there is one serious omission.

Republicans caved
By agreeing with President  Barack Obama and the Democrats on extending the payroll tax cut, Republicans have hurt senior citizens and all future recipients of Social Security.  If they wanted to dish out a tax cut of 2 percent, it should have come from federal income taxes, not our Social Security trust fund.  This so-called tax cut resulted in a decrease in our Social Security trust fund of more than $100 billion in 2011 and now they want to extend these reductions into 2012.

Local mayors deserve applause
Earlier this month, this newspaper published an editorial and the editorial board encouraged Hardin County residents to show its commitment to education.
Local mayors answered that call.
Elizabethtown Mayor Tim Walker and Radcliff Mayor J.J. Duvall joined a number of decision makers and dined with Western Kentucky University students in Bowling Green’s Downing University Center.
