Conservative Republicans are always accusing liberal Democrats of waging class warfare when Democrats point out the wide and forever-growing income gap between the haves and have-nots. Conservatives generally don’t see pervasive poverty in America as a problem and seem unconcerned with the rich getting richer while the middle class and poor get poorer.

Obama a hypocrite on education
Many a time President Barack Obama has spoken out on education issues, always affirming his support of opportunity for all students and of course more and more money for education. Unfortunately the president and his fellow Democrats could not support the Washington, D.C., Opportunity Scholarship Program that serves low-income, mostly minority students.
The program helped 1,700 kids and independent evaluations found it very successful but the president and Democrats killed the program in 2009.

Silliness in session

Preschoolers should not have to move
I think it is a shame that the superintendent of Hardin County Schools would even consider moving the preschool out of Lakewood Elementary School. She is supposed to be for our preschoolers, not against them.
This move was not discussed with parents. Nor was the community asked for its input. To my knowledge, the staff and site-based decision making council were not even told  that this was a consideration.
