    I am the son of Ralph Baskett who was elected twice to be sheriff of Hardin County and later served 18 years as circuit court clerk.

    I am writing this letter in support of John Ward who is a candidate for the position of Hardin County sheriff.

    John Ward is the most qualified candidate to be our next sheriff. John knows how to work the street: For two years, he was a Vine Grove police officer and then began his career working the road as a trooper with the Kentucky State Police.

    John rose in rank within the Kentucky State Police organization and achieving the rank of captain and became the post commander for Post 4 in Elizabethtown in 2004.
