Newtons celebrate 55th...

Joseph and Joyce Robison Newton of Radcliff will celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary May 4, 2013, with their children and grandchildren.

They were married May 4, 1958.

Mr. Newton is the son of the late Samuel and Bridgett Newton. He is retired from the U.S. Army and is a member of St. Christopher Church.

Mrs. Newton is the daughter of the late John and Velma Robison. She is retired from Uarco and also is a member of St. Christopher Church.

John and Michelle Edwards of Cecilia announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Whitney Edwards of Cecilia, to Daniel Carpenter of Springfield, son of Danny and Christy Carpenter of Springfield.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Wenstern Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in art education and a graduate of Bellarmine University with a master’s degree. She is an art teacher at North Hardin High School.

Mr. and Mrs. Willis R. “Dickie” Cecil of Radcliff and Eddie and Jimmi Jones and David Simpson of Elizabethtown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their children, Tracey Eileen Cecil and Austin Gregory Simpson, both of Vine Grove.

The bride-to-be is a realtor with Semonin Realtors.

The prospective groom is co-owner of Jones Exterminating.

The wedding is May 11, 2013 in Tennessee with a reception to follow.

Fraziers welcome Emma Brook

Robert and Kelly Frazier of Elizabethtown announce the birth of a daughter, Emma Brook Frazier, on March 22, 2013, at Hardin Memorial Hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 1 ounce and was 20 inches long.

She has a brother, Gerald Frazier.

Maternal grandparents are Debbie and Jerry Wiseman of Elizabethtown; paternal grandparents are Sharon Troutman of Louisville and Gene Frazier and Becky Newton of Bardstown.

 Great-grandparents are Barbara Dalton, Shirley Frazier and Bob and Mary Jo Martincic.

Radcliff Woman’s Club provides...

The Radcliff Woman’s Club recently learned the residents of North Hardin Health & Rehabilitation were in need of a subscription to a daily newspaper, to obtain regional and national news. Club members got into action and voted to provide the facility with a year’s subscription to The News-Enterprise.

Courtney Lane Craddock and Nathaniel Shane Bryan, both of Elizabethtown, announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Randy and Bonnie Craddock of Elizabethtown. A 2000 graduate of Central Hardin High School, she attended the University of Louisville. She is a manager at McDonald’s.

Nolin RECC celebrates National...

Nolin Rural Electric Cooperative Corporation joined the U.S. Senate in recognizing April 18 as National Lineman Appreciation Day. The Senate passed a resolution honoring line workers for their efforts in keeping power flowing.

Approximately one-half of Nolin’s 97 employees work in the field restoring power during outages and maintaining distribution lines and equipment. Across the nation, more than 19,000 men and women maintain 2.5 million miles of line for electric co-ops, public power districts and public utility districts.
