Central Hardin took to the air Friday night.
You could almost call it an Air Raid.
Senior receiver Gavin George hauled in seven Chase Elmore aerials for 285 yards and two touchdowns as the Bruins put it on Meade County, 43-7 at Hamilton Field.
Elmore finished 9-for-14 for 303 yards. Central Hardin totaled 409 yards of offense, 321 through the air as it moved to 8-0 and 2-0 in Class 6-A, District 2 action.
George also grabbed his seventh interception of the season.
Meade County’s run defense was stout again, allowing 85 yards on 25 attempts.
Bruins senior Kyler Lee ran the ball nine times for 47 yards and three touchdowns. He also had a two-point conversion.
Central Hardin went 72 yards on eight plays on its first possession. Lee capped off the drive at 4:55 of the first period from the 3. Elmore hooked up with George for 45 yards on third-and-9 from the 29.
The Bruins made it 15-0 55 seconds into the second quarter when Tre’Jean Sanders scored from the 5.
Elmore and George teamed up again, this for 50 yards on third-and-4 from the 46.
The Green Wave then had their best offensive possession.
They went 66 yards in 11 plays and had a first-and-goal from the 9.
A terrible intentional grounding penalty on second down moved Meade County back to the 20 and George picked off a pass on the next snap.
The Green Wave had 64 yards of offense the rest of the game.
Central Hardin went 94 yards in eight plays.
Elmore found George for 39 yards on first down. The Bruins faced a third-and-29 after a 22-yard penalty and the pair connected again, this for 40 yards. Lee scored from the 7 and Evan Jones’ PAT made it 29-0 89 seconds before halftime.
Central Hardin’s Nolan Goodman recovered the kickoff at the 20 and Lee scored from the 1 three plays later for a 29-0 lead with 32.9 seconds left in the quarter.
The Bruins received the second-half kickoff and went 67 yards on five plays. The final 35 was Elmore to George. Jones’ PAT made it 36-0 and the running clock started.
It was 43-0 with 2:19 left in the third quarter as Elmore found George for 65 yards on third-and-8 from the 35.
Meade County’s Kyle Parker scored from the 1 with 92 seconds left in the game to close the scoring.
The Green Wave ran the ball 27 times for 101 yards. Quarterback Trent Mofield was 6-for-10 for 56 yards. J.J. Richardson caught five passes for 50 yards. Waylon Allen ran the ball 11 times for 58 yards.
Central Hardin (8-0, 2-0) welcomes North Hardin (8-0, 2-0) at 7:30 p.m. next week.
