The LaRue County boys’ soccer team advanced to the 18th District Tournament semifinals Monday with a 2-1 victory over Campbellsville at Marion County.

The Hawks (7-12) meet top-seeded Taylor County (16-3) at 6 p.m, tonight.

LaRue County snapped a three-game losing skid.

Senior Caleb Altman scored both goals, the first a minute into the second half from a Logan Mitchell assist.

The second came with 25 minutes left in the contest.

Campbellsville scored with 5:10 left in the game, but the Hawks held on.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

MEADE COUNTY 10, BUTLER COUNTY 0. The host Lady Waves earned a spot in the 11th District Tournament final opposite Grayson County (4-12).

Meade County (11-5-2) won its second straight contest and are 3-1-1 in its last five starts.

Mattie Clanton and Cyia Robertson each recorded a hart trick for the winners. MacKenzie Wilson scored twice, while Braydin Board and Hannah Heschke each had a goal.

The final is at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
