The E’town Summer Classic is being held today, Saturday and Sunday at the E-town Swim & Fitness Center.

It will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today and from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The weekend morning sessions are for swimmers ages 13-and-over. The afternoon sessions are for ages 12-and-under.

“We are a very young team where 80 percent of the team is made of swimmers between the ages of 7 to 14,” coach Pedro Pereira said. “The future is bright for us and it is already paying dividends. During the 2019 12-and-under state championship we placed fourth overall and third on the girls’ side, ahead of teams from Lexington and Louisville. Girls like Zoie Dishaw (10-and-under high point winner with five golds) and Sydney Braeger lead the squad.

“On the boys’ side, we had Jacob Norton and young Amar’e San Diego holding down the fort to give us the best placing in over five years.

“During the E’town Summer Classic we will have the participation of some great members of our club. Swimmers like Kaitlyn Brandenburg and Madelyn Godfrey who have been with the Dolphins for almost 10 years, as well as state championship standouts Ellie Wright, Micaela Godfrey, Caroline Godfrey, Lauren Godfrey, Kyle Bowman, Everett Seifert and Ellerie Seifert.”
