    The 18th District still belongs to the Green County Lady Dragons.

    Top-seeded Green County dominated second-seeded LaRue County on Tuesday night, rolling to a 25-11, 25-11, 25-6 win in the district tournament championship at Hart County.

    Green County (30-7) won its 12th straight district title, including the last nine in a row over LaRue County (14-17).

  • GIRLS' 5TH REGION SOCCER...

    The LaRue County Lady Hawks achieved a major feat Monday night by scoring on the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers, who ran the table in the regular season with eight 17th District shutout victories.

    If only the Lady Hawks had 10 more goals to go with it.

    The Fort Knox Lady Eagles don’t have much experience closing out matches, but they sure looked comfortable doing it Monday night in the 17th District Volleyball Tournament quarterfinal.

    After falling behind 2-1, the fourth-seeded Lady Eagles rallied for a 25-23, 16-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-12 victory over the fifth-seeded John Hardin Lady Bulldogs at the Dawg Pound.

    Elizabethtown junior Lauren Hartlage made the Kentucky All-State team for the second consecutive year and this time she is bringing some company.

    Hartlage and junior teammate Rebecca Black were named to Kentucky All-State teams Monday. Hartlage was selected to the first-team, while Black made the second team.

    The LaRue County Lady Hawks are back in a familiar spot: the 18th District Volleyball Tournament championship match.

    LaRue County swept Hart County, 25-12, 25-19, 25-14 on Monday night, advancing to their ninth straight district title match.

  • BOYS' 5TH REGION SOCCER...

    BARDSTOWN — LaRue County coach Derek Bell felt the 19th District Tournament runner-up Nelson County Cardinals were perhaps the only team in the Boys’ 5th Region Soccer Tournament his 19th District runner-up Hawks could steal a win from this week at Thomas Nelson.

    Only Derrick Zielke and the Cardinals were locked down and stopping any threats of larceny or theft.

    The Elizabethtown Lady Panthers and Central Hardin Lady Bruins have been the only ones on the guest list the last 11 years, and once again they are the top two seeds in the 17th District Tournament, which kicks off today and runs through Wednesday at John Hardin.
