    BOWLING GREEN — The Elizabethtown Lady Panthers were justifiably happy following the Leachman Buick-GMC-Cadillac/KHSAA Girls’ State Championships, but they left Bowling Green Country Club far from satisfied.

    Sophomore forward Katie More­land’s two goals helped the North Hardin Lady Trojans snap a three-game losing skid with a 2-1 win over visiting Marion County on Wednesday.

    Moreland’s first goal gave North Hardin (9-9-1) a 1-0 lead, but the Lady Knights (1-16) tied it in the first 30 seconds of the second half. Moreland’s 17th goal of the season made it 2-1.

    The homestanding John Hardin Bulldogs built a 2-0 lead midway through the first half against the Spencer County Bears before storms postponed the game Tuesday.

    Action was supposed to resume after 9 p.m., but the Bears (4-11-1) left the school before the game was supposed to restart.

    The Bulldogs (17-3) scored both goals on set pieces.

    The Lady Bruins are no strangers to the state tournament, qualifying 14 consecutive years. During that span, they’ve won two championships and finished as the runner-up twice.

    Senior Becca Hepner matched freshman Abby Erckenbrack with a team-hive five digs while also posting three kills and a team-high 21 digs as the host Elizabethtown Lady Panthers rallied for a 3-1 win Monday night over the Nelson County Lady Cardinals, 17-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-19.

    Erckenbrack also had 10 digs.
