  • PREP SOFTBALL: Like a magnet,...

Whether on the field or at the plate, Aubree Muse is a softball magnet.

Defensively, the Central Hardin sophomore third baseman is a strong-armed, soft-handed mobile vacuum. She can field hard-hit screamers just as easily as well-placed bunts. Third base isn’t even her natural position as she’s an outfielder during travel ball season.

  • ON CAMPUS: North Hardin grad...

Florida State University sophomore Lydia Gumm (North Hardin graduate) was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Women’s Golf Team as voted on by the league’s 11 coaches.

  • 17TH DISTRICT BASEBALL...

Change is inevitable during the course of a baseball season,

From the beginning of the year to the postseason, there have been winning streaks which built confidence and that same confidence was eroded by maddening slumps.

  • 17TH DISTRICT SOFTBALL...

The Central Hardin Lady Bruins have shown a chink in their armor this season, but like Elton John, they’re still standing.

  • 18TH DISTRICT BASEBALL...

Making the 5th Region Baseball Tournament became an annual tradition for the LaRue County Hawks, but all good things come to an end.

The Hawks lost to Hart County, 4-3 in the 18th District Tournament semifinals last year, ending a streak of region appearances which started in 1989. That didn’t sit well with the Hawks, who vowed to not let it happen again.

  • 18TH DISTRICT SOFTBALL...

LaRue County is on full alert tonight.

The second-seeded Lady Hawks (19-14) meet the third-seeded Hart County Lady Raiders (26-6) at approximately 7:30 in the 18th District Softball Tournament semifinals in Munfordville after the teams split their regular-season series.

  • 11TH DISTRICT BASEBALL...

The Meade County Green Wave accomplished the first part of their goal, but the second part is much more important for a number of reasons.

  • 11TH DISTRICT SOFTBALL...

Coach Mike Harreld hopes the 21st time’s the charm for Meade County.

The Lady Waves’ leader since the program’s inception in the spring of 1995, Harreld is retiring after this season, which will come to an end next week in the 3rd Region Softball Tournament at Edmonson County or in the Worth/KHSAA Softball State Tournament in Owensboro from June 4-6.

  • BOYS' PREP TRACK: One bad...

Paxton Wiley couldn’t hide his disappointment, but the North Hardin senior wasn’t going to let what happened to him in the 300-meter hurdles overshadow what the Trojans accomplished Friday night.

Winning a ninth straight Class 3-A, Region 2 team title at Central Hardin’s Bruin Field is more than enough to make up for it.

  • GIRLS' PREP TRACK: Running...

    Onward Trojans.

In what’s become a routine occurrence, the North Hardin Lady Trojans had another dominating run during Friday’s Class 3-A, Region 2 meet at Central Hardin’s Bruin Field.

The top-ranked Lady Trojans won 13 of the 18 events, easily running away with their ninth straight region title with 185 points.
