  • GIRLS' PREP HOOPS: Stinson...

The list of players who can carry the load offensively for the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers is extensive. It isn’t limited to star forward Erin Boley, or even Division-I signees Reauna Cleaver and Darien Huff.

Sophomore guard Jada Stinson and junior guard Rachel Warden reinforced that Monday night against the visiting North Hardin Lady Trojans.

  • PREP HOOPS ROUNDUP: Muhlenberg...

The visiting Muhlenberg County Mustangs shot a blistering 74 percent from the field as they beat 3rd Region foe Meade County, 73-57 on Monday.

Muhlenberg County (9-10) made 26-of-35 from the field as Meade County (10-5) lost for the fourth time in five games.

  • PREP HOOPS: Refreshed...

Elizabethtown coach Tim Mudd did something last week that he can’t remember ever doing during his 21-year tenure: He gave the Lady Panthers two days off during the week.

The top-ranked Lady Panthers have sure earned it as they take a six-game winning streak into tonight’s 17th District contest against visiting North Hardin.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS: North...

CAMPBELLSVILLE — The North Hardin Trojans endured a rough week on and off the court last week.

The Trojans dropped back-to-back road games, losing to 17th District rival Elizabethtown, 49-47 and to 11th-ranked Taylor County, 72-64. Although they came out of the short end in both games, the Trojans believe they can take something from the losses.

  • PREP WRESTLING: Trojans, Hawks,...

Three area wrestling teams qualified Saturday for the Kentucky Wrestling Coaches Association State Duals on Jan. 31 at Union County.

No. 17 North Hardin, No. 49 Meade County and No. 54 LaRue County each finished runner-up at their sectional duals.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS: Central...

Sophomore guard Jackson Pawley said Central Hardin’s reserves put the pressure on the Bruins’ starters prior to Friday night’s 17th District clash with the Fort Knox Eagles.

The way the Bruins’ bench looked at it, the starters had played so well the previous two games and their torrid play better continue so the reserves could get some clock.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS: Williams...

It took nearly 10 years for the Elizabethtown Panthers and Meade County Green Wave to renew an old 17th District rivalry, and Friday night’s game in Brandenburg didn’t disappoint.

The game between the former longtime foes certainly had the flair of some of those old district games.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS: Taylor...

CAMPBELLSVILLE — The North Hardin Trojans want to get back to the top of the 5th Region, but the Taylor County Cardinals showed North Hardin isn’t quite there yet.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS ROUNDUP:...

Junior guard Matt Miller scored 19 and freshman forward Mickey Pearson had a double-double as the host John Hardin Bulldogs pulled away for a 66-44 win over Spencer County on Friday.

Pearson added 18 points and 13 rebounds for the Bulldogs (6-11), who have won 2-of-3. Miller also had five assists.

  • GIRLS' PREP HOOPS: Stanford...

There were two things missing in the first half for the North Hardin Lady Trojans on Friday night at John Hardin. In the first quarter, it was their energy. In the second quarter, it was Tamiah Stanford.

Both returned in the second half, sparking North Hardin to a 17th District victory.
