    The North Hardin Lady Trojans had just gotten back to Radcliff following Saturday’s double-overtime win over 17th District foe Fort Knox. Instead of heading home like a lot of her teammates did, North Hardin coach Tony Garrison said sophomore forward Katie Moreland went to Dawley Park to work on her shooting after the Lady Trojans missed 17 shots.

    The John Hardin Bulldogs were dealt another loss Monday with the loss of senior linebacker Maleek Moody.

    Moody, who was one of only three starters returning on defense, is out indefinitely after sustaining an injury, believed to have happened during the Central Hardin game.

    Senior forward Dani Wilson and junior midfielder Rebecca Black combined for six goals and three assists, leading the homestanding Elizabethtown Lady Panthers to a 10-0 win over 17th District rival Fort Knox on Monday.

    Wilson notched a hat trick and had one assist, while Black scored three times and assisted on two others for the Lady Panthers (5-3, 2-0 district).

    The Central Hardin Lady Bruins aren’t panicking, but this isn’t the way they wanted to start the season.

    The results are there as the Lady Bruins are 8-2, including 2-0 in the 17th District. But just in terms of the way they’re playing, they haven’t had the the crisp, clean performances they expected with a strong core returning.

  • PREP SOCCER: Area teams dealing...

    When North Hardin senior captain Isaiah Linscott was hurt Aug. 26 in a shootout loss at John Hardin, he went to the enemy for physical guidance.

    Linscott was treated by Beth Smith, fiancee of Central Hardin assistant coach Tyler Vessels. Central Hardin, which hosted North Hardin two days later, was Linscott’s first game since the left leg injury.

    Robert Rupp is knocking on the door.

    After Saturday night, the North Hardin senior expects to blow it off the hinges.

    Rupp won the Central Kentucky Run for the Gold for the second straight year, getting ever closer to achieving one of his long-sought goals of breaking 16 minutes, winning the 132-runner race in 16:00.45 at the Elizabethtown Sports Park.

    After Josh Sheroan dove left to save a shot in the shootout, Trojan fans rushed the field to celebrate with Sheroan and the rest of the team. The only problem was that North Hardin still had to make one more shot to deal Elizabethtown its first loss.
