  • PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Pike,...

    Sophomore right-side hitter Emma Pike and senior middle hitter Allison Powers combined for 23 kills, leading the visiting Central Hardin Lady Bruins to a season-opening 3-1 victory (25-6, 17-25, 25-7, 25-13) at 17th District rival Fort Knox on Thursday.

    Pike led the way with 13 kills, while Powers had 10 kills, two blocks, two digs and one assist.

    Junior keeper Johnna Langford made four saves for Central Hardin, which was outshot 7-5.

    The Lady Trojans faced off against the Lady Hawks three times in 2014 – twice in the regular season and once in the Bluegrass State Games prior to the season. North Hardin emerged victorious on all three occasions.
