  • PREP FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Mullins...

When North Hardin senior Brenton Mullins began playing flag football, he didn’t have any idea it would lead him on the path it has.

Mullins started playing flag football at age 8 at Dawley Park. At the time, it was just something to do, but it slowly transformed into a passion for the game.

  • PREP FOOTBALL PREVIEW: The North...

When the North Hardin Trojans were last seen, they had nearly just upset the Meade County Green Wave. But in a strange twist of events despite a win a week earlier over the John Hardin Bulldogs, the Trojans found themselves on the outside of the Class 5-A playoffs looking in.

  • PREP FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Class 6-A...

The race to be the best in Class 6-A, District 2 has intensified over the past several seasons.

It’s been all about Central Hardin and Meade County, and rightfully so. The two programs have been going toe-to-toe since 2013, finishing 11-2 and 12-3. It was the first time since 2010 that both teams finished with a winning record.

  • PREP FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Central...

  • PREP FOOTBALL PREVIEW: Veteran...

There aren’t many better starts than the one Tim Mattingly had at Central Hardin.

Mattingly took over a program that was already on the rise. After finishing the 2012 season with a 5-7 record under former coach Mark Perry, the Bruins rebounded to go 11-2 the following season. That’s where Mattingly took over.

    And the winning didn’t stop.

The North Hardin girls’ soccer team knows its competition steps up quite a few notches next week, but Katie Moreland, Andrea Cummings and the rest of Lady Trojans are sitting pretty after the opening week of the season.
