  • INDIVIDUAL STATE BOWLING...

LOUISVILLE — JuniorsKawika Glover of North Hardin and Keri Johnson of Central Hardin looked at Friday’s competition at Executive Strike and Spare as a learning experience for next season, while coach Dan Robbins saw it as the end of a solid season and albeit short career for North Hardin senior Nick Conrad.

  • PREP BASEBALL/SOFTBALL ROUNDUP:...

After falling behind 1-0 in the bottom of the first, the visiting Central Hardin Bruins reeled off 12 unanswered runs en route to a 12-1 win over 5th Region foe Campbellsville on Thursday.

Second-ranked Central Hardin (2-1) scored three runs in the second before breaking the game open with two in the fifth and four in the sixth.

  • PREP BASEBALL: Green Wave hand...

Too uptight after their first three games, the Meade County Green Wave got a little squirrelly.

They finally relaxed, had fun and acted like kids again.

Garrett Ledford’s wicked curveball helped the Green Wave curtail their early season losing skid, too.

A senior pitcher, Ledford struck out nine batters in six innings Thursday and added some offense with a run-scoring single to guide Meade County to a 6-1 win over visiting North Hardin.

  • GIRLS' STATE BOWLING...

LOUISVILLEThe North Hardin Lady Trojans’ best still wasn’t enough to beat the state’s almost best.

Despite vastly improved seeding totals and baker averages from last week’s region tournament, the first-year program from Radcliff couldn’t avoid a straight-game loss to the fifth-seeded Lexington Bryan Station Lady Defenders in the first round of the inaugural Ebonite International/KHSAA State Bowling Championships at Executive Strike and Spare.

  • INDIVIDUAL STATE BOWLING...

Keri Johnson wasn’t expecting the ovation she received Monday morning as the junior walked into Central Hardin High School.

Less than 48 hours after knocking off three straight Taylor County Lady Cardinals to win the girls’ individual title at the 2nd (Mid Kentucky) Region Tournament at Campbellsville’s Phillips Lanes, Johnson received a superstar welcome.

  • PREP SOFTBALL: John Hardin tops...

John Hardin’s two youngest players came through in the clutch Thursday.

  • BOYS' STATE BOWLING...

LOUISVILLEThe John Hardin Bulldogs might as well have been the John Hardin Underdogs entering boys’ team bracket play Thursday at the inaugural Ebonite International/KHSAA State Bowling Championships at Executive Strike and Spare.

The 2nd (Mid Kentucky) Region Tournament runner-ups entered the tournament seeded last in the individual seeding game and last in baker average based on the results of the eight region tournaments.
