  • COLLEGE SOCCER: ECTC Barons fall...

After pulling off a pair of comebacks in their inaugural soccer game the week before, the Elizabethtown Community & Technical College Barons couldn’t rally again Friday evening.

The Barons gave up three early goals to the St. Catharine College reserves, but got two of those back before falling, 3-2 to the Patriots in ECTC’s home debut at the Mike Carroll Soccer Complex.

  • PREP FOOTBALL: Elizabethtown...

Elizabethtown has played some reactive defense as of late and second-year coach Adam Billings wants the Panthers back to being proactive.

After playing what Billings said was a physical game in their season-opening win against visiting Fort Knox, the Panthers seemed tentative defensively in consecutive losses to the Louisville DeSales Colts and the Central Hardin Bruins.

  • PREP FOOTBALL: Meade hopes to...

Warren Central has so many running back options that it’s making veteran Meade County coach Larry Mofield’s head spin.

  • PREP FOOTBALL: LaRue County...

LaRue County coach Josh Jaggers feels as if he’s abused his copy machine and computer over the last week, but preparing a scouting report for the versatile Green County Dragons is going to take a few extra sheets of paper or more video compared to other teams.

Because the Dragons (1-2) have so many offensive schemes, the Hawks (2-1) have to be prepared for anything and everything when they entertain their rival tonight in Hodgenville. Game time has been advanced to 7 p.m. in hopes of avoiding severe storms in the forecast.
