    But that doesn’t seem to apply to the Girls’ 3rd Region Golf Tournament where history has a tendency of repeating itself.

    North Hardin junior Lydia Gumm and the Central Hardin Lady Bruins have dominated the event in recent years and the tournament appears to have the same storylines entering today region tournament at Heritage Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville.

    Juniors Lexy Hazle and Emily Richardson scored 3 minutes apart in the second half to lead the top-ranked Elizabethtown Lady Panthers to a 2-0 win over No. 17 Ohio County on Saturday in the Central Kentucky-Western Kentucky Challenge.

    The John Hardin Lady Bulldogs went 2-2 over the weekend in the Bowling Green Purples Classic.

    John Hardin (11-12-1) def. Anderson County (21-17, 19-21, 15-11) and Franklin-Simpson (21-5, 21-11) and lost to Edmonson County (21-10, 21-15) in pool play.

    The Lady Bulldogs then lost to Warren East (final score not available) in the single-elimination silver division tournament.

    A rough week ended in disappointing fashion for Elizabethtown’s volleyball team in its own Hilliard Lyons Lady Panthers Fall Classic.

    Elizabethtown finished in third place, falling to rival Meade County in three sets (20-25, 25-18, 15-10) in the semifinals at Elizabethtown High School.

    The Lady Panthers (23-7) defeated North Bullitt (22-25, 25-22, 15-13), Ohio County (25-17, 25-22), Owensboro (25-13, 25-13) in pool play and Bullitt East (25-7, 25-17) in their crossover match.
