    Down 17 points with 3:14 left in the third quarter Thursday night, the host John Hardin Lady Bulldogs rallied past the Adair County Lady Indians for their second straight win.

    Trailing 54-37, John Hardin outscored Adair County by 20 points the rest of the way en route to a 71-68 win. A 14-0 run spanning the third and fourth quarters got the Lady Bulldogs (3-1) back in it.

    Junior Tajah Haley scored 14 of her team-high 16 points in the second half, while junior Zacchea Small chipped in with 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists.

  • PREP WRESTLING: Banged-up Hawks...

    One week into the season, the fifth-ranked LaRue County Hawks are already a banged-up bunch.

    And they’ll be without one of their most experienced and talented wrestlers for at least a few weeks.

    Senior Caleb Canter, who’s ranked No. 1 at 170 pounds by kentuckywrestling.com, injured one of his knees during last Saturday’s Oldham County Super Duals. Longtime coach Gary Canter said his son will miss at least two weeks.

    As senior Chanel Roberts goes for her fourth straight double-double tonight, the North Hardin Lady Trojans will look to extend their lengthy winning streak over 17th District rival Fort Knox.

    North Hardin (2-1) has reeled off 20 straight wins in the series – but the Lady Trojans were the last district team the Lady Eagles (1-2) beat.

    Fort Knox topped North Hardin, 55-52 on Dec. 13, 2002 – a span of 96 district games.

    One chapter of Michael Vick’s golfing career is done, and now he knows where the next one will begin.

    A John Hardin senior, Vick signed a commitment letter to play golf next year at Morehead State. He becomes the third local golfer this season to sign with a NCAA Division-I school.

  • GIRLS' PREP BASKETBALL...

    Senior Chanel Roberts recorded her third straight double-double as the North Hardin Lady Trojans cruised to a 63-21 win over host Louisville Western on Tuesday.

    Roberts had 20 points, 13 rebounds and three assists, while sophomore Zakayshia Pass added 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.

    Freshman Tamiah Stanford chipped in with eight points, while junior Domeneque Taft scored six.
