    Now, the North Hardin 152-pound sophomore is working to make sure that door doesn’t close.

    Williams was a backup last season, hoping to earn a starting spot for the Trojans, who would go on to win the Region 2 Tournament. He just didn’t think it he would become a starter the way he did.

    WILLIAMSBURG — Meade County senior Tyler Addesa played in the Kentucky-Tennessee Border Bowl All-Star Game on Saturday.

    An outside linebacker, Addesa made four tackles to help the Kentucky squad to a 33-32 victory. He was the only area player on the team, which was coached by Scott County’s Jim McKee.

    Having gone 1-of-9 from the floor before halftime, the John Hardin junior guard scored seven points in 1 minute in the third quarter as the Lady Bulldogs pulled away for a 43-32 win at 5th Region rival LaRue County.

    Junior forward Josh Durbin scored 14 points and junior guard Jacob Bewley added 11 points as the Meade County Green Wave held off homestanding 11th District rival Hancock County, 60-56 on Tuesday.

    The Green Wave (10-3, 4-0 district) shot 43 percent from the field and snapped a two-game losing streak.

    This was exactly the type of game Elizabethtown coach James Haire needed to see from his Panthers.

    Trailing by four at halftime and eight in the third quarter, the Panthers rallied in the fourth quarter for a 49-47 victory over the North Hardin Trojans in a defensive slugfest Tuesday night in a 17th District game at Charlie Rawlings Memorial Gymnasium.
