  • GIRLS' PREP HOOPS ROUNDUP:...

John Hardin junior guard Emily Bohannon and freshman guard E’Lona White both had a night to remember Friday.

Bohannon poured in a career-high 32 points and White had a triple-double to lead the Lady Bulldogs to an 81-13 rout of Fort Knox in a 17th District game.

  • GIRLS' PREP HOOPS:...

NEW CASTLE, IND. — It isn’t often the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers have to close out teams from the free throw line, but that was the situation they faced Saturday afternoon.

That’s because no matter how well the Lady Panthers shot, they just couldn’t seem to shake the Fort Wayne (Ind.) Homestead Spartans.

  • PREP WRESTLING: Johnson, Bird...

Having never faced Central Hardin senior Tristin Bird before, John Hardin freshman Trent Johnson wasn’t quite sure what to expect when the two met in the 138-pound final of Saturday’s North Hardin Invitational at Ron Bevars Gymnasium.

It’s safe to say both will know what’s coming the next time they meet.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS: Central...

The Central Hardin Bruins had been down this road before against the Elizabethtown Panthers once already this season. Build a lead, only to see it vanish in the second half.

This time, however, the Bruins withstood the Panthers’ rally.

    The News-Enterprise

The LaRue County Lady Hawks aren’t blaming their loss at home Friday night on being without their coach, Travis Wootton, who was sick. Instead, they blamed themselves for a slow start to the second half as they fell to 18th District rival Green County, 63-58.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS: Seniors...

Wanting, and perhaps needing, to get over the hump against visiting 18th District rival Green County, the LaRue County Hawks leaned on a pair of seniors to make it happen Friday night.
Forward Caleb Sheffer and guard Micah Wiseman combined to score 34 of the Hawks’ final 36 points as they rallied for a 69-64 overtime win against the Dragons.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS: Trojans...

On a night when North Hardin’s usual starting rotation gave up their roles to the team’s seniors, the Trojans got off to a slow start at 17th District foe Fort Knox.

But a spirited halftime speech from Coach Mike Cofer got North Hardin fired up.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS: John...

John Hardin coach Jared McCurry took a new approach to get the attention of his team prior to Friday’s game at Meade County. Before the team loaded the bus, he gave each player a copy of their statistics for the first 14 games and asked if they were happy with what they saw. If they were, McCurry told them to put them in their locker.

  • BOYS' PREP HOOPS:...

The Elizabethtown Panthers and Central Hardin Bruins look like teams heading in opposite directions right now.

The Panthers (6-3, 1-0 17th District) are one of the area’s hottest teams, winning five straight, including winning the Campbellsville Holiday Classic and a 62-59 come-from-behind victory over Lexington Bryan Station.
