Nick Paden and the LaRue County Hawks got a glimpse of just how good they could be while competing in a tournament in Georgia over Christmas break.

  • HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL: Winter...

This latest winter weather blast could put some of tonight’s Hardin County high school basketball games in jeopardy.

But as of Thursday evening, most games were still scheduled with schools waiting to make their decisions until later this afternoon.

  • PREP WRESTLING: Trojan...

North Hardin wrestling coach Keith Smith has long believed the Trojan Invitational Tournament is one of the best late-season tournaments offered across the state.

With 17 teams joining Smith’s Trojans, Saturday’s tournament at Ron Bevars Gymnasium should be no different. Wrestling will start at 10 a.m. Finals are slated to start at 8 p.m.

  • PREP WRESTLING: Crittenden takes...

When Danny Crittenden found out his family was moving to Radcliff while he was still in middle school, Crittenden had aspirations of playing for Adam Lindsey’s Bluegrass Middle School football team.

Crittenden had no idea that six years later, he’d be walking down a different path with Lindsey.

  • BOYS' PREP BASKETBALL:...

From porous defense on the perimeter to downright bad ball-handling, the homestanding North Hardin Trojans bent several times Tuesday night.

But the short and spunky Meade County Green Wave didn’t have enough to make sophomore Jordan Brangers and the rest of the Trojans break.

Brangers scored 18 of his game-high 26 points after halftime to help the Trojans overcome a nine-point deficit with a little more than 12 minutes left, as North Hardin rallied for a 79-74 win in the 104th meeting between the former 17th District rivals.

  • PREP BASKETBALL: Meade County at...

Meade County coach Jerry Garris isn’t sure what it takes for his younger, smaller Green Wave to match up with the North Hardin Trojans.

What he is sure of is this – Meade County doesn’t have it.

“There’s no way we can prepare for them, and there’s nobody we can put out there who can do what they do. We have to concentrate on what I think we can do and go from there,” said Garris, whose Green Wave (7-9) travel to Radcliff to play the Trojans (10-7) at 7:30 tonight.
