    BOWLING GREEN — Behind a dominant performance by their defense, the North Hardin Trojans shook a 3-year-old monkey off their back and kept their playoff hopes alive.

    Senior cornerback Marcus Shepherd sparked North Hardin with an interception return for a touchdown before halftime and the Trojans rallied from a nine-point deficit to beat Greenwood, 14-9 on Friday in their first win over the Gators since becoming Class 6-A, District 2 rivals in 2007.

    SHEPHERDSVILLE — The LaRue County Hawks were held more than 100 rushing yards below their average, and saw their playoff chances take a huge hit in a 42-0 loss to Class 4-A, District 4 rival North Bullitt on Friday night.

    The Hawks, who entered the game averaging more than 311 yards on the ground, were limited to 181 yards at C.T. Collins Field.

    LaRue County, which was last shutout last season against Bullitt East, was completely stymied in this game.
