    The 10th-ranked Elizabethtown Lady Panthers went 1-0-1 in the WKY-CKY Challenge on Saturday, beating No. 8 Daviess County and playing to a 0-0 tie against No. 12 Marshall County.

    The host Lady Panthers (12-4-3) opened with a 1-0 win over No. 8 Daviess County.

    Against Daviess County, junior striker Tara Gilpin banged home the rebound of her own shot in the first half for the game’s lone goal and her 11th goal of the season.

    The Elizabethtown Lady Panthers went 5-2 to finish second in their own Hilliard Lyons Lady Panthers Fall Classic on Saturday.

    In pool play, Elizabethtown (26-8) defeated Paducah Heath, 21-15, 21-14, Meade County, 21-13, 12-21, 18-8 and Bullitt East, 21-14, 21-15. Elizabethtown lost to Louisville Whitefield, 21-17, 21-18 in crossover pool play.

    Turnovers doomed the Fort Knox Eagles on Friday night against the visiting North Oldham Mustangs.

    Fort Knox lost three of its six fumbles, including one on the final play of the game in double overtime, as North Oldham held on for a 35-28 win at McAdams Field.

    Sophomore Brandon Franklin fumbled the snap on second down from the North Oldham 10-yard line and a North Oldham player fell on the ball, ending the game.
