    Junior Chanel Roberts posted a double-double to lead the North Hardin Lady Trojans to a 39-31 win over Louisville Central on Saturday in the first game of the Cameron Irvin Classic at North Hardin.

    Roberts had 14 points and 15 rebounds for North Hardin (4-1), while senior Brianna Woodson chipped in with 14 points and three steals.

    Sophomore Morgan Barrick pulled down 10 rebounds for the Lady Trojans, who outscored Central 16-5 in the third quarter.

    The third quarter proved to be the charm for the Elizabethtown Panthers on Friday night.

    The Panthers outscored Central Hardin, 16-6 in the third quarter and then held on for a 55-46 victory after the Bruins cut the lead to two in a 17th District game on Central Hardin’s Terry Buckles Court.

    “We came out the third quarter playing harder,” said senior forward Jansen Flood, who had 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists. “We focused on defense and rebounding the ball. We pushed the ball when we had chances.”

    The Nelson County Lady Cardinals ended 12 years of frustration Thursday night.

    Homestanding Nelson County took a six-point lead into the locker room and held on for a 46-44 win over the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers – the Lady Cardinals’ first win in the series since Jan. 7, 1999.

    Eighth-grader Erin Boley paced Elizabethtown (3-1) with 13 points and four rebounds, while junior Alexis Powell added 12 points, five rebounds and three steals.

    Senior Kaylyn Cecil chipped in with 10 points and four assists.
