    With just four games left before the end of the boys’ 10th District soccer schedule, one thing is certain – nothing.

    Four of the six teams have just one loss and two of those meet at 7 tonight as the John Hardin Bulldogs (9-4-1 overall, 1-1 district) host the reigning district and 5th Region tournament champion Central Hardin Bruins (7-6, 3-1).

    Senior Hannah Howard kept herself pretty busy Wednesday night against visiting 10th District foe Fort Knox.

    Howard scored four goals and assisted on three others to lead the John Hardin Lady Bulldogs to a 10-1 win over the Lady Eagles.

    Josh Kleber is champing at the bit, ready to get back to action after serving his two-game suspension.

    The Fort Knox senior running back was suspended for two games by the KHSAA after getting ejected from the Eagles’ 26-18 loss to Hart County on Aug. 26.

    Throw in Fort Knox’s bye week, and it’s been a long three weeks of nothing but practice for Kleber.

    Two of the area’s premier volleyball teams are ready for Round 2.

    The top seed for the 17th District Tournament is up for grabs at 7:30 tonight.

  • GIRLS' PREP SOCCER: No. 1...

    Senior Sarah Greenwell and the Elizabethtown Lady Panthers will have to wait until the weekend to see how it feels to take the field for a full game as the No. 1 girls’ soccer team in the state.

    Wednesday evening against visiting 10th District rival Meade County was their first chance to experience that rush – and it lasted all of 47 minutes.

    Taking the spot of injured senior Tara Gilpin, Greenwell filled in admirably with one goal and three assists as the Lady Panthers rolled to a 10-0 mercy-rule win against the Lady Waves.

    Sophomore Jeremy Garcia scored twice to lead the host John Hardin Bulldogs to a 3-1 win over Spencer County on Tuesday.

    Senior Russ Mott also scored for the Bulldogs (9-4-1), who won their fourth straight. Freshman John Westwood, junior Alex Higdon and senior Erik Krivitsky each had an assist.

    Senior keeper Dylan Smith stopped three shots for John Hardin, which outshot Spencer County, 29-4.

    UP NEXT: John Hardin hosts Central Hardin at 7 p.m. Thursday.

    John Hardin’s serving was on Tuesday night and the Lady Bulldogs aced their way past 17th District rival Fort Knox.

    John Hardin totaled 17 aces and rolled to a 25-9, 25-7 win over visiting Fort Knox.

    Senior Taylor Cecil totaled team-highs of eight aces and six assists, while senior Amanda Aumack had three aces and two kills. Senior Meaghan Warsaw and junior Tori Nelson added two kills apiece, while junior Bryanna Fraley had two aces.
