  • PREP FOOTBALL: Elizabethtown...

Before practice Tuesday, several members of the Elizabethtown Panthers football team admitted they failed to prepare for last week’s game and as such, they instead prepared to fail in their 54-0 road loss to the North Oldham Mustangs.

The Panthers (1-3) were held to 123 yards on 38 plays and allowed the Mustangs (4-0) – ranked 12th in Class 4-A in this week’s Associated Press poll – to amass 445 of their 535 yards on the ground.

  • PREP VOLLEYBALL: Elizabethtown...

Elizabethtown wasn’t going five sets again against 17th District rival North Hardin.

  • BOYS' PREP SOCCER:...

There wasn’t a lot of ‘efense’ Tuesday night at Troy Wade Memorial Field in Radcliff between the Elizabethtown Panthers and the host North Hardin Trojans.

Notice there is no ‘d’ because for the most part, there wasn’t any.

Having held its seven previous foes to less than two goals, North Hardin’s once solid defense was nowhere to be found in its key 17th District contest, but Elijah Linscott and the Trojans found a way to make up for it offensively.

  • PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: No. 11...

Central Hardin won the marquee regular-season 5th Region showdown meeting, and more than a month into the season finally handed the Green County Lady Dragons their first loss.

  • PREP FOOTBALL: Bruins must...

If there’s one lesson the Central Hardin Bruins learned last week, it’s to be wary of the deep ball.

Louisville Butler burned them four times with passes of 25 yards or more and finished with 244 passing yards as the Bears won, 52-20.

  • COLLEGE BASKETBALL: ECTC Barons...

Shortly after graduating from Central Hardin High School in June 1999, Aaron Butterworth joined the military.

Craig Simpson graduated from Louisville Valley High School in 2000, Cliff Dugger is from Rockford, Ill., and Rob Pittman started alongside current Indiana University star Cody Zeller in high school in Washington, Ind.

None of the four would seem to be on the recently revived Elizabethtown Community & Technical College men’s basketball team, but make no mistake, they are four proud Barons.
