    BARDSTOWN — The Kentucky Wolverines, an eighth-year men’s amateur minor-league summer/fall football team based in Hardin County, will have a team meeting for all interested players and coaches at 1 p.m. Saturday at B.J.’s Bar & Grill (201 Camptown Road) in Bardstown.

    The Wolverines’ acting head coach is former Wolverine and minor-league football veteran Greg Nolan, who is actually a former rival as Nolan played defense for the Evansville (Ind.) Vipers during the Wolverines’ inaugural season in 2003.

    BRANDENBURG — Chea-ney Schwartz may not be the most fundamentally sound player on the court, but he has always had a knack for scoring.

    “He’s always been a good scorer. I wouldn’t call him a shooter, but he’s a good scorer,” Meade County coach Jerry Garris said of his sophomore forward. “He can make three or four wrong cuts and still find a way to put the ball in.”
