    Senior midfielder Elijah Linscott scored once and had three assists to lead the North Hardin Trojans to a 6-1 win over Louisville Butler on Wednesday.

    Senior striker Steve Packer had a goal and two assists, while defender Kage Rhodes scored twice and had an assist. Senior midfielder Devin Sowells and junior midfielder Chris Wood Jr. also scored.

    Sophomore goalkeeper Andrew Rendon recorded five saves. North Hardin (10-6) had a shutout until the Bears (9-6) scored on a free kick with about 6 minutes left.

    So when coach Hal Bender lets the Lady Bruins’ star senior keeper out of the net to play the field, she wants to make the most of it.

    Playing 70 of the 80 minutes in the net, Haberman capped off her team’s high-scoring night Wednesday by assisting Sidney Pickman on the reserve junior forward’s first career goal as No. 20 Central Hardin rolled past the rusty and weary North Hardin Lady Trojans, 8-0.

    The John Hardin Bulldogs rolled through their first four games last year. They blew out Lexington Henry Clay before winning a shootout at Lexington Catholic. They followed that up with back-to-back shutouts over Meade County and Boyle County.

    Sophomore forward Christian Bonifield scored twice and junior Brandon Peck notched a hat trick in assists as the visiting John Hardin Bulldogs rolled to a 5-1 win over Spencer County on Tuesday.

    Senior defender Matt Lewis, junior forward Jeremy Garcia and sophomore defender Jon Westwood also scored for the Bulldogs (8-5-2), who led 3-1 at the half.

    Junior keeper Justin Hubert made two saves as John Hardin outshot Spencer County 25-6 overall and 15-3 on frame.

    UP NEXT: John Hardin plays at Central Hardin at 7 p.m. Thursday.

    Second-year Meade County coach Shajuana Ditto came up with a different defensive strategy to try and spoil Central Hardin’s senior night.


    Junior middle hitter Ivy Brown had 14 kills, four aces, three digs and two blocks to lead the LaRue County Hawks to a four-set victory over visiting 5th Region rival Washington County on Monday, 25-7, 23-25, 25-16, 25-13.

    Senior outside hitter Miranda Hornback chipped in with six kills, four aces and one block, while junior setter Lorren Newby had seven aces, 35 assists and two digs.

    Senior middle hitter Haley Holt added seven kills, three digs, one block and one ace, and junior outside hitter Melika Menard had five kills.

    Sophomore forward Jaycee Serrano and senior striker Jennifer Rethmeier each had a hat trick to lead the Meade County Lady Waves to a 10-0 win over 11th District rival Breckinridge County on Monday.

    Rethmeier also had an assist for Meade County (8-5-1, 2-0 district), which led 7-0 at the half. The game was called on the mercy rule with 20 minutes left to play.

    Yes the Panthers lost for the fourth straight game and for the 16th time in 17 outings Friday against the Bardstown Tigers, 55-20, but they still took away several positives.
