  • PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP: John Hardin...

Sophomore Ethan Sivulich had a hat trick as the visiting John Hardin Bulldogs knocked off 17th District rival Fort Knox, 5-1 on Thursday.

Sivulich scored on assists from senior Luca Mazzorato (two assists), junior Johnny Merrill and sophomore Rylan Jaquess.

Jaquess and freshman Abdullah Atiyani also scored as John Hardin (14-1, 6-0 district) won its third straight.

  • PREP VOLLEYBALL ROUNDUP: Lady...

Down two sets to zero against visiting 5th Region rival Taylor County on Thursday night, the North Hardin Lady Trojans put together a furious rally to pull out their 16th win of the season.

North Hardin knocked off Taylor County in five sets (10-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-15, 15-9) to improve to 8-1 in its last nine matches.

  • PREP FOOTBALL: Coming off bye,...

On their way to the Class 6-A state final last season, the Meade County Green Wave were notorious for never underestimating an opponent.

They faced several teams along the way with unimpressive records, and Coach Larry Mofield seemed to have a way to convince his players that any team could beat them.

  • PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Central...

A change in venue has helped the Central Hardin Invitational grow immensely in the last four years.

Because work at Freeman Lake Park wasn’t guaranteed to be finished in time for Central Hardin to host the meet there, Bruins coach Tim Pennington and Lady Bruins coach Kris Mix had to look for other alternatives.

  • PREP VOLLEYBALL: Resilient...

With the way last season’s matches went between the Central Hardin Lady Bruins and Elizabethtown Lady Panthers, no one was surprised the teams were still playing well over 2 hours after their match began Thursday night.

This time, however, it was Central Hardin’s turn to pull out the five-set thriller.

  • PREP FOOTBALL: Brown wants...

After not paying for their mistakes in the first three weeks of the season, the Elizabethtown Panthers’ miscues caught up to them at home last week against the unbeaten South Warren Spartans.

  • PREP FOOTBALL: Bulitt East could...

One of the things Tim Mattingly set out to instill in the Central Hardin Bruins when he took over before this season was a tough, physical mentality.

Not that the first four games haven’t tested that, but playing the Bullitt East Chargers on Friday night will allow the Bruins to guage how far they’ve come in that department.

  • PREP GOLF ROUNDUP: Wednesday...

ELIZABETHTOWN — Results from Wednesday’s nine-hole match at the par-36 back nine at Elizabethtown Country Club:

  • GIRLS' PREP SOCCER ROUNDUP...

Sophomore Sydney Maxwell had one goal and one assist as the surging North Hardin Lady Trojans beat the Fort Knox Lady Eagles, 3-1 on Wednesday night.

Junior Jasmin Green and freshman Casey Windle also scored for the Lady Trojans (5-5-1, 3-2 17th District), who have won 5-of-6. Sophomore Katie Moreland had an assist for North Hardin, which played its third game in three days.

  • GIRLS' PREP SOCCER: John...

Two weeks between goals was a little too long for Zoe Lamberg’s liking.

After scoring 10 goals in John Hardin’s first five games this season, the junior forward was held scoreless following a hat trick Sept. 3 against 17th District rival Fort Knox.

On Wednesday night, Lamberg helped the homestanding Lady Bulldogs beat area rival Meade County.
