    The Elizabethtown Lady Panthers ran their winning streak to five straight by going 2-0 in the Caldwell County Round Robin on Saturday.

    Elizabethtown beat Daviess County, 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-20) and Caldwell County, 3-1 (28-26, 25-16, 18-25, 25-22).

    The Lady Panthers (22-8) have won 7-of-9.

    The Central Hardin Bruins owned a one-goal halftime lead Saturday, but the visiting Daviess County Panthers stormed back en route to a 6-3 win.

    Junior Joseph Jopes had two unassisted goals for the Bruins (9-8-1), who have lost 4-of-5 and 6-of-8. Senior Alec Burgess tallied Central Hardin’s other goal, which was also unassisted.

    Tied at zero through the first 16 minutes, Hannah Munoz fed fellow freshman Jordan Nelson for two goals in a 3-minute span as the visiting John Hardin Lady Bulldogs closed 17th District play Saturday with a 5-1 win at Fort Knox.

    LOUISVILLE — The North Hardin Trojans let one slip away Friday night, snatching a loss from the jaws of victory.

    The Trojans raced out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead only to watch Jeffersontown score 32 straight points and then hold on for a 39-34 victory in a Class 5-A, District 3 game.

    RUSSELL SPRINGS — After finding ways to lose three straight weeks, the LaRue County Hawks found a way to win. On the road, no less.

    The Hawks kept the Russell County Lakers scoreless on all eight of their possessions and senior Koy Lindsey’s fumble recovery on the Lakers’ final offensive play gave the Hawks three turnovers as LaRue County held on, 14-10.
